Dr. Kara Hegwood brings a truly unique perspective to dentistry at Forest Family Dentistry's Anderson Lane location in Austin. Before earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery from UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry, she spent her time as a middle school STEM educator after graduating from Texas A&M University. That background shapes everything about the way she practices today: she is endlessly patient, genuinely invested in helping people understand their own oral health, and deeply committed to making every visit feel supportive rather than stressful.
Dr. Hegwood provides personalized, comprehensive dental care for patients of all ages and is nitrous oxide certified, offering gentle sedation options for anyone who experiences dental anxiety or is coming in for a more involved procedure. She is also certified provider of Botox® therapy for TMJ related jaw tension, headaches, and other symptoms of temporomandibular joint disorders, giving patients a minimally invasive path to real, lasing relief.
