Dr. Kara Hegwood

Dr. Kara Hegwood combines a passion for science, artistry, and patient-centered care in her role at Forest Family Dentistry. After earning her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University, Dr. Hegwood began her career as a middle school STEM educator. Her dedication to helping others eventually led her to dentistry, where she could merge her love of education, hands-on-work, and healthcare. She went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry.

Dr. Hegwood take pride in providing personalized, comprehensive dental care in a warm and welcoming environment. She is nitrous certified, offering gentle sedation options for patients with dental anxiety or those undergoing more involved procedures. Dr. Hegwood is also a certified provider of TMJ Botox therapy, helping patients find relief from jaw tension, headaches, and other symptoms of temporomandibular joint disorders through minimally invasive treatment.

As part of her focus on aesthetic dentistry, Dr. Hegwood specializes in HALO Veneers, and advanced conservative cosmetic treatment designed to enhance smiles with natural-looking, durable results.
