Dr. Mandell was born in Massachusetts and grew up just north of Boston in the town of Reading. Dr. Mandell completed her undergraduate in Biology at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH, and her Doctorate of Dental Medicine at Boston University. Upon graduation, she entered the United States Army as a Dental Officer. Dr. Mandell served as a General Dentist for 4 years at Fort Gordon, GA prior to completing a 2-year AEGD residency at Fort Bragg, NC where she also earned her master’s degree in Oral Biology.

After completion of her residency, she was stationed at Fort Hood, TX. At the start of the COVID19 pandemic, she was activated to New York City to set up a military hospital. Upon return to Fort Hood, she was put in charge of a 30 chair dental clinic, managing treatment for around 8,000 Soldiers. In February 2021, she deployed to Baghdad, Iraq and served as the Chief Dental Officer for the region, treating both American and coalition service members.

She recently transitioned out of active-duty military service to Reserve status and has decided to call central Texas home. In her free time, Dr. Mandell enjoys working out, hiking and trying out new restaurants around the area.
