Dr. Sara Mandell is one of the most uniquely accomplised dentists in Round Rock, bringing a level of clinical training and real world experience that very few dental providers anywhere can match. Originally from Reading, Massachusetts, just north of Boston, she earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from Saint Anselm College before completing her Doctor of Dental Medicine at Boston University. From there, she took a path that set her apart entirely.
Dr. Mandell began her career as a Dental Officer in the United States Army, serving as a general dentist for four years at Fort Gordon, Georgia. She then completed a two year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Fort Bragg, where she also earned a Master's degree in Oral Biology. During her time in service, she managed a 30 chair dental clinic at Fort Hood, Texas, was activated to New York City in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic to help establish a military field hospital, and deployed to Baghdad, Iraq for nine months in 2021. The kind of composure, precision, and leadership that military dentistry demands translates directly into exceptional patient care.
Dr. Mandell has continued to build on that advanced training throughout her career. In 2026, she became a graduate of the Kois Center in Seattle, Washington, further expanding her education in comprehensive and evidence based dentistry. That same year, she took over full time as the dentist for the Texas Starts AHL team in Cedar Park, managing gametime dental injuries for both the home and visiting teams.
Now transitioned to Reserve statues, Dr. Mandell is proud to call Central Texas home and bring that same dedication and excellence to the Round Rock community at Forest Family Dentistry.
She is nitrous oxide certified and provides comprehensive dental care including preventive, restorative, and general dentistry, always making sure patients feel informed, comfortable, and well cared for throughout their visit.
Outside the office, she enjoys working out, hiking, and exploring new local restaurants around the Round Rock and Austin area.
